Expression of Interest: Mine Site Laboratory Technician Are you an experienced and dedicated Laboratory Technician seeking an exciting opportunity within the mining sector? We are currently seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated individuals to join our new team based at a newly constructed mine site in Goldfield’s region of Western Australia. This pivotal role involves performing critical analytical tests on geological and metallurgical samples, directly supporting our operational efficiency, grade control, and environmental compliance. You will be an integral part of a fast-paced, mine site laboratory environment, contributing to vital decision-making processes. About the Role: As a Mine Site Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for: Sample Preparatio n: Receiving, logging, crushing, pulverizing, and splitting various samples (drill core, blast hole, process plant, environmental) to ensure accuracy and traceability. Chemical Analysis: Conducting a range of analytical tests using techniques such as AAS, XRF, gravimetric analysis, titration, and potentially fire assay. Quality Control & Assurance (QA/QC) : Implementing and monitoring stringent QA/QC procedures, interpreting data, and ensuring analytical integrity. Data Management: Accurately recording results in LIMS or spreadsheets and assisting with reporting. Safety & Environment : Strictly adhering to all site safety protocols, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and ensuring environmental compliance. Maintenance: Performing routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Team Collaboration : Working effectively with geologists, metallurgists, and operational teams. What We Are Looking For: Qualifications : Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques (or equivalent). Experience: Proven experience as a Laboratory Technician, ideally within a mine site or similar industrial laboratory, with a strong background in sample preparation and analytical techniques (AAS, XRF, etc.). Skills : Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications. Attributes: A strong commitment to safety and quality, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adaptability to rotating shifts (including nights and weekends). Physical Requirements: Capable of performing duties that include lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures. Working Environment: This role is based on a mine site and involves exposure to typical laboratory conditions (dust, noise, chemicals). Strict adherence to PPE requirements is mandatory. The position may require to work 12 hours per day and will include shift work. This role will be offered on a FIFO roster of 2 weeks on 1 week off, departing from Perth, WA.
