With a broad state-wide presence and deep community trust, they deliver vital services that protect and improve the lives of animals every day. Entering a new strategic chapter under a newly appointed CEO, the organisation is focused on uplifting culture, improving systems, and building high-performing, kind-hearted leadership teams. ABOUT THE ROLE This is a rare opportunity to bring meaningful, long-term impact to an organisation that truly matters. As General Manager Animal Operations, you’ll lead operational delivery across shelters, vet services, and wildlife care. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll manage a team of four direct reports and work closely with other executive leaders to drive clarity, consistency, and compassion across all aspects of animal care. Your days will be varied and full of purpose - one day you’ll be working with regional managers to resolve on-the-ground challenges, the next you might be in strategic planning discussions with the CEO, or mapping out process improvements to reduce animal stays and improve outcomes. You’ll be coaching leaders, visiting sites, problem-solving resource issues, and influencing change in a way that brings people with you. This role is both strategic and hands-on, with a strong focus on leadership, operational uplift, and cultural transformation. If you're someone who can walk into complexity with calm, kindness, and clarity, this is the role for you. You’ll bring a calm, people-first approach to leadership - someone who can uplift others, drive performance, and make operational improvements without losing sight of purpose. If you’ve worked in environments where compassion and commercial thinking must coexist, and you thrive on building structure through trust, this could be your perfect next step. Significant experience in operational leadership within complex environments Proven track record of leading leaders and driving performance uplift Empathetic, resilient leadership style with strong commercial acumen Experience managing change and uplifting capability in frontline or service-based teams Strong communication and relationship-building skills Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, leadership or operations (preferred) HOW TO APPLY At Lotus People, we are committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion.
