5 month role Brisbane CBD based Eden Ritchie Recruitment is seeking an experienced and collaborative Advisor (Public Transport Finance - SEQ) to join a large and complex Queensland Government department. This position reports to the Manager (Public Transport Finance – SEQ). Key Responsibilities Process contract payment data into Translink’s payment systems within target timeframes and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inputs. Includes checking, collating and work-flowing supporting documents for review and authorisation. This includes the preparation of Recipient Created Tax Invoices and remittance advices, and distribution to relevant stakeholders in a timely and secured manner. Perform contract cost accrual and transfer journals, reconciling payments to SAP, and other end of month processes as required and provide information on cash flow requirements for planned monthly contract payments to assist with cash flow management. Assist in the maintenance of complex financial and reporting models including modifying/updating the tools and undertaking user acceptance testing under the instruction of the Senior Advisor. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Contract Management teams, service providers and other stakeholders with a focus on achieving value for money outcomes. Provide general administrative support and assistance including secretarial functions for finance meetings and record management. Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Highly desirable qualifications and experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent Membership with CPA, CAAZ or equivalent Requirements of the role Demonstrated contractual finance skills including the preparation of complex contract payments extending to the investigation, analysis, and resolution of intricate financial calculations. Well-developed financial skills including financial analysis, investigate and resolve complex financial issues, month end processing, budget development and management. Able to prioritise to meet critical deadlines while ensuring a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. Able to communicate clearly to articulate complex financial issues and solutions to a broad audience. Supports others by providing timely information within own area of expertise in an articulate and non-technical manner. Proficiency in the application of enterprise and custom finance related ICT systems such as SAP, Excel, Power Query and SharePoint.
