About the role You will be responsible for accurately cutting, bending, positioning, and tying reinforcing steel bars and mesh in the manufacture of precast concrete elements. The role plays a key part in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of precast components in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards. Interpret and work from technical drawings, bar schedules, and precast element plans. Cut, bend, and shape steel reinforcement using hand tools, cutting/bending machines ,or automated equipment. Set out and assemble steel cages or reinforcement frames within moulds/formwork. Work closely with the casting team to ensure timely and accurate placement of reinforcement before concrete pour. Skills and experience required Previous experience as a steel fixer in a precast concrete or construction environment. Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings Strong understanding of reinforcement steel types and fixing techniques. Competency in using steel cutting, bending, and tying tools. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Nice to haves Construction Induction Card (White Card) Worklift or overhead crane license. Welding certification (if applicable) Experience in lean manufacturing or 5S environments.
