Located at 166 William Street, Devonport, we have a dedicated team who are passionate about providing a holistic approach with our co-located mission in Devonport. We are currently taking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST for VOLUNTEERS to join our Army of Volunteers. We are seeking people to assist us with the vision of opportunities for parents to connect and grow skills. While an opportunity for Children and Youth to have opportunity for study and receive tutoring from our dedicated volunteers. This specific role is to be a Study Program Coordinator & Tutor supporting local young people from primary to secondary. This is an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR VOLUNTEERS o Time commitment – Tuesdays 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (TBC depending on Expressions of Interest). In addition to this time to plan and support other tutors within the team and meetings with mission team as required additional (2 - 3 hours as needed) o Role tasks/requirements: Inspire others with trust, confidence and treats everyone with dignity and respect Provide group/individual facilitation teaching/educational services Liaise with student/s providing guidance on activities Encourage participation from student/s Provide accurate and up-to-date information to students/s Respond to individual needs effectively and as required within the program outline Present a positive image of the organisation to the community and external customers Refer student/s to appropriate Salvation Army pastoral or appropriate services o Mandatory qualifications if required Fully complete The Salvation Army's mission volunteer induction, training and registration process Complete integrity checks as required by TSA, TSA is a childsafe workplace o Preferred qualifications/skills/experience as required Experience in a similar field desirable Previous teaching or tutoring experience highly regarded The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
