Here at our Support Office in Eagle Farm, we serve two customers - those loyal guests and customers, and our thousand plus staff who serve them. That's where you come in. About the role We are seeking someone to lead the accounting and reporting across our accommodation assets. This division is growing fast, comprising ~1,000 rooms, food & beverage operations and functions and events. This is a newly created, hands-on role to define and improve financial processes and reporting, resulting in improved efficiency of the transaction capture and timeliness/integrity/understandability of these divisions’ management reporting. The role will lead and mentor two Assistant Accountants and partner with local hotel teams and central revenue team, ensuring all financial activities are completed accurately and on time, leading to a seamless financial close process and enhanced performance visibility. Working closely with the Financial Controller, Accommodation GM and the local teams, you will be accountable for: Gaining a deep understanding of the business processes and activities which underpin the financial transactions, continually collaborating with local teams to refine and improve Support the operating team with system and process changes, reflecting in changes to the financial processes and reporting as required Providing business partnering support through the translation of high-quality financial information and combination with other management information to generate insights Delivering an efficient and accurate close progress with high GL integrity (P&L and Balance Sheet), with up-to-date reconciliation of key accounts Maintenance of FAR and BAS obligations and contribution to annual tax and audit process Support the development of a new suite of financial reporting appropriate for each entity / division and integrate with operational KPIS, providing commentary on key variances Support planning and integration activities for new acquisitions – play the lead role for finance and ensure performance visibility from day one Contribute to a high performing team and mentor your direct reports (and other less experienced members across the team) to realise their, and your, potential. About you To be successful in your application and this role, you will be a clear and confident communicator across all levels of the business. It is critical that you can go beyond the numbers and understand business processes and performance. You will need to be curious – we’re looking for someone to be a trusted partner and advisor, who collaborates well but has their own ideas about how to work smarter. If you’ve had experience building and refining management reporting that will stand you in good stead. We work predominantly across PowerBI and Excel, so it is essential you can demonstrate a strong level of comfort with those applications. We are implementing a new ERP, so exposure to accounting in an ERP environment would be valuable. Experience in a multi-site environment is also preferred, ideally in a hotel/accommodation business or services based business. You will be a qualified accountant able to articulate your high-quality experience in previous roles. This is a full-time role based in our Eagle Farm Support Office. Parking is available on site.
