Our is a leading logistics company and is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a 12 month contract. This role will be responsible for statutory / regulatory compliance and be a leader within the finance team. Key responsibilities include: • Overall responsibility for the month-end accounting cycle, ensuring that management accounts are prepared in an accurate and timely manner, • Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, • Prepare the commissions entitlement calculations in accordance with policy and adhering to deadlines to ensure on-time submission to payroll for payment • Contribute commercially to business outcomes, through the analysis and interpretation of financial information and results against budget/forecast while determining opportunities for improvement or remedial action, • Assistance in preparation of writing the monthly Business Performance Reports to the business unit leaders and the Board • Lead the preparation of the annual audit and statutory accounts process provides an accurate and stable environment for financial reporting, • Support the broader finance team with answering technical and process related questions • Oversee the payment and lodgement of tax-related obligations, including BAS and PAYG payments and returns and generally manage tax compliance • Assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget and rolling forecasting. The successful candidate will have: • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and/or finance roles • Finance/Accounting qualification and CA/CPA qualified, • Demonstrated experience and involvement in deploying financial project management initiatives and financial system transformations, • Exposure to Business Intelligence systems and experienced in using BI tools in reporting, reconciliation and accounting process improvement, • Experience with Netsuite This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a driven and high-calibre candidate to become part of a successful and growing.
