Join DOF as a Deck Cadet
We are looking for a Deck Cadet to join our dynamic maritime team. We offer a working environment consisting of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovate, and enthusiastic employees. As a Deck Cadet with DOF, you will develop your knowledge and assist our Deck Officers in navigating our world class fleet of vessels.
This role serves as a stepping stone for future aspiring Deck Officers, providing them with hands-on experience and essential skills. Your dedication, agility including your commitment to safety, will be an invaluable asset in shaping the future of DOF's Marine Deck Department.

Requirements
- Available to commence as a Deck Cadet or Advance Standing Deck Cadet in 2025
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Applied Science (Nautical Science) or equivalent or meet the minimum entry requirements
- Relevant maritime operations experience is beneficial but not essential
- The ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
- Demonstrate a high level of health, safety and environmental practices and behaviours
- The ability to build positive working relationships and display collaborative skills
- Demonstrate strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- The ability to engage with diverse groups of people
- Demonstrate a flexible, adaptable and resilient approach to meet vessel and company demands
