An exciting and unique opportunity is available for a motivated individual to join the Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol (SCEP) branch as a Communications Officer in the Multicultural Communications team at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC).
Strategic Communication, Engagement and Protocol Branch (SCEP) provides specialist communication, engagement and protocol advice and support for the department, the Premier and portfolio ministers.
As the Communications Officer in the Multicultural Communications team, you will develop a range of communications, media and event material to support the Victorian Government's key priorities to communicate effectively with multicultural communities. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders in the broader Multicultural Affairs portfolio to ensure there is a coordinated approach to delivering communications activities. This role will report into the Senior Manager, Multicultural Communications in the SCEP branch.

As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare a variety of communications materials for a range of audiences using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
- Well developed planning and organising skills, including ability to identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a common goal.
- Highly developed problem solving skills and ability to identify and propose workable solutions to problems and to liaise effectively with key stakeholders.
- Willingness to be flexible and to juggle multiple priorities and plan and prioritise own work to ensure outcomes are achieved.
- Ability to constantly look for continuous improvement opportunities and ways to innovate and to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in communications or media or equivalent industry experience is highly desirable.
