About the role: We are looking for an experienced SMSF Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in our Melbourne SMSF division, working closely with passionate professionals on a wide range of funds. If you have strong superannuation technical skills, a solid background in SMSF accounting, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, this could be the next opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities: Prepare SMSF workpapers and financial statements in accordance with current legal and accounting standards. Liaise with the SMSF auditor, addressing queries as they arise. Ensure SMSF’s comply with regulations relating to investments, transactions, and loans. Prepare documents for client meetings and assist during meetings as required. Manage workflow to ensure timely lodgements for income tax, GST, and transfer balance account reporting. About you: You are an experienced detail-oriented SMSF Accountant with a passion for delivering high-quality financial outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment but are also capable of working autonomously to meet deadlines. With excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail, you are committed to ensuring compliance and accuracy in all aspects of SMSF accounting. Experience and Attributes: Essential: A degree in Business/Commerce with an accounting major. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency with Class Super. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Technically sound in all aspects of SMSF administration and compliance. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Desirable : CA qualification or working towards completion. SMSF specialist course completed or in progress.
