Your role within Policy, Performance and First Nations will support the department to develop and implement housing and homelessness strategies and policies to support service delivery and drive housing and homelessness reform to deliver outcomes for First Nations peoples and communities.
You will be part of First Nations Housing and Homelessness which contributes to the delivery of aspects of the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017 – 2027 and Our Place: A First Nations Housing and Homelessness Roadmap to 2031 (Our Place Roadmap) and Action Plan 2024-2027 (Our Place Action Plan)
You will provide a high level of confidential executive, administrative, secretarial and project support to the General Manager.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assess and prioritise requests to facilitate the optimal use of the General Manager's time.
- Proactively manage and coordinate the General Manager's electronic diary and email, including preparation and organisation of meetings, conferences, seminars, accommodation and travel arrangements.
- Assist the General Manager and Senior Business Services Officer with project work as required and providing high quality advice to staff at all levels on procedures and administrative standards.
- Liaise and build strong relationships with the Office of the General Manager, Service Delivery, and with officers at all levels within the department, and other public and private sector organisations in relation to Office of the General Manager activities.
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on collaboration, communication, and cultural capability, including for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Manage competing priorities and provide consistently high levels of support, given heavy workloads, short deadlines and the need to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion.
- Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations
