About the Company PJL Group is a specialised Underground Hard Rock Maintenance and Asset Supply company, delivering high-quality maintenance solutions to Australia’s mining sector. We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join a long-term greenfield underground mining project at Kanmantoo, South Australia. The Kanmantoo operation is located approximately one hour south-east of the Adelaide CBD, nestled in the highly desirable Adelaide Hills region, with surrounding towns including Mount Barker, Murray Bridge, Hahndorf and Strathalbyn. This is a rare opportunity to work on a greenfield underground project while living locally and being home every night, offering genuine work–life balance. PJL Group is responsible for the 24/7 supply and maintenance of the underground mining fleet, operating from dedicated on-site workshop facilities for our client Hillgrove Resources (HGO). The fleet consists primarily of Sandvik, Caterpillar and Volvo underground equipment. About the Role Reporting to site leadership, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of underground mining equipment, ensuring maximum reliability and minimal downtime. Key responsibilities include: Conducting routine inspections of underground mobile equipment Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults Performing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs Completing complex repairs to a high standard of quality and safety Accurately recording maintenance activities and defects Working collaboratively within a high-performing team to meet production demands Actively contributing to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A Mechanical Trade Qualification Demonstrated experience maintaining underground mining equipment Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems A proactive approach to safety, quality and housekeeping The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision A team-focused mindset with strong communication skills Current Australian work rights Previous experience with Sandvik, Caterpillar or Volvo underground equipment will be highly regarded.
