Position Objective The role of a Housing Officer involves tenancy management of customers housed through social housing programs. The role supports the successful sustainment of tenancies through an effective allocation process, conducting professional and compassionate assessments of customer needs and providing appropriate advice, support and referrals. The Housing Officer will perform their duties in accordance with core organisational values, established policies and procedures, funding guidelines and relevant legislation, while maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and supporting positive community engagement. This is a full-time role (76 hours) with the flexibility to work a nine-day fortnight. Selection Criteria Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in the housing and homelessness sector, Human Services or another relatable field Knowledge of community services and support pathways Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage respectfully with a diverse customer base Proven ability to build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Effective time management and organisational skills including accurate recordkeeping Ability to work independently and collaboratively with adaptability in a changing environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the capacity to adopt new systems Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant skills and experience.
