The Town of Mosman Park is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified professionals to join our Design Review Panel (DRP). The DRP provides independent, impartial, and expert advice to the Town on architectural and design aspects of significant planning proposals. The Role As a member of the DRP, you will play a crucial role in improving the design quality of development with the Town, ensuring new projects are consistent with out Local Planning Policies, Strategy, and other frameworks. Your expertise will assist the Town in formulating recommendations for the Council, DAP's and other determining authorities. The Panel reviews proposals including, but not limited to, multi-dwelling developments, heritage listed properties, developments of four or more storeys, and other complex projects identified as having significant community interest or urban design impact. About You We are looking for professionals in one of more of the following disciplines: Architecture Urban Design or Urban Planning Landscape Architecture Heritage Conservation Sustainable Development Civil Engineering Candidates should possess a strong understanding of the design principles outlined in State Planning Policy 7.0 - Design of the Built Environment. While not mandatory, preference will be given to residents or ratepayers of the Town of Mosman Park. Please note that employees or elected members of the Town of Mosman Park are ineligible for appointment. Appointment Details Appointments are for a two-year term, and members are remunerated for their professional time in accordance with the Town’s Schedule of Fees. Please address the following criteria in your cover letter: Panel members should have experience in providing design review advice within a panel format, DRP or Other Demonstrated expertise in design review, design critique or the provision of strategic advice on design quality issues Knowledge or understanding of the State’s Planning Framework, relevant local government policies, development controls and design issues in the local area Ability to analyse, evaluate and offer objective and constructive feedback on complex design quality issues in design review, for evaluation of complex develop Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team Good written and verbal communication to ensure that advice provided to proponents is clear and concise All submissions are to be submitted no later than 4.30pm, 18 July 2026 through this website. All applications will be reviewed by the Town after the submissions period closes and a report of recommendation will be presented to Council at the August 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting for determination.
