This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing a payroll function supporting employees across a complex workforce operating under multiple enterprise agreements and employment frameworks. The organisation is currently navigating a significant period of growth and integration, creating an opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to drive governance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. Your New Role Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll operations while leading a small team of payroll professionals. You will ensure payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and efficiently while supporting broader improvement and transformation initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Leading end-to-end payroll operations for a large and complex workforce. Managing and developing a team of payroll professionals. Ensuring compliance with awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation. Managing payroll governance, controls, reconciliations and audit readiness. Leading payroll remediation, compliance and improvement projects. Supporting system enhancements, testing and process optimisation initiatives. Partnering with HR, Finance and key stakeholders to improve payroll outcomes. Providing escalation support for complex payroll matters. What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring: Significant experience managing payroll within a medium to large organisation. Previous experience leading or mentoring payroll teams. Strong knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation. Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, quality assurance and compliance activities. Advanced payroll systems experience, ideally within enterprise environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. Experience in payroll remediation, governance or transformation projects will be highly regarded.
