About The Role The Aboriginal Education Directorate provides strategic cultural and policy advice on national and state policy direction in relation to Aboriginal education and contributes to the implementation of the Department’s Aboriginal Education Strategy. The Aboriginal Services Engagement Officer will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to provide advice in the implementation of strategies identified in the Department of Education’s Aboriginal Strategy that support the attendance, social and emotional wellbeing, and engagement and participation in learning of Aboriginal children, young people and their families/carers. The environment can at times be politically sensitive in relation to Aboriginal affairs and governance. The position required high levels of confidentiality and is subject to periods of high workload and changing priorities. Qualifications Essential: Nil Desirable: A certificate 4 or higher education qualification in education, human/community services, or equivalent experience. Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years. Remuneration AEW4 $98,271 - $104,058 per annum (1.0 FTE) superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
