Job Description Production Horticulturalist Full-time, ongoing · Carabooda, Western Australia About us We are an established horticultural production enterprise based in Carabooda, Western Australia, growing vegetables. We are seeking an experienced Production Horticulturalist to take day-to-day responsibility for growing healthy, high-quality crops and to help drive the productivity and quality of our operation. Remuneration & hours Salary package: from $71,550 per annum plus superannuation (paid in accordance with the Horticulture Award; commensurate with skills and experience) Full-time, ongoing position Hours: 38 ordinary hours per week, averaged over a 4-week cycle (152 hours per 4 weeks), plus guaranteed overtime of approximately 8 hours per week (paid at overtime rates) — around 46 hours per week in total. Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities Plan, coordinate and monitor planting, growing and harvesting schedules to meet production targets Monitor crop health, soil condition, irrigation and nutrition, and adjust growing programs as required Implement pest, disease and weed management programs in accordance with regulations Operate, calibrate and maintain horticultural machinery and irrigation systems Apply fertilisers and agricultural chemicals safely and in accordance with label and WHS requirements Maintain accurate production, spray and harvest records Guide and direct field workers to meet quality and food-safety standards Ensure compliance with food safety, biosecurity and workplace health and safety requirements Skill & Experience About you A relevant AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV in Horticulture (or equivalent); or 3 years’ experience as a Production Horticulturalist with relevant formal training; or 5 years’ experience with no formal training Sound knowledge of crop agronomy, irrigation, and pest and disease management Ability to operate and maintain farm machinery and irrigation systems Ability to work under limited supervision and to coordinate a small team Chemical-handling accreditation (e.g. ChemCert / AQF chemical units) desirable Physically fit and able to work outdoors across a range of conditions Reliable, safety-focused and quality-driven How to apply Please send your CV and a brief cover letter to yahoo.com.
