Gidgee Healing is seeking a passionate and experienced Family Wellbeing Manager to lead a dedicated, multidisciplinary team delivering culturally responsive, family-centred services across the Mount Isa, North West and Lower Gulf regions. About the Role As the Family Wellbeing Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of our Family Wellbeing Service—a program focused on strengthening families, improving outcomes for children, and supporting early intervention. You’ll lead a diverse team including Family Wellbeing Workers, Support Workers, a Social Worker, Counsellor, and support staff, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive service delivery. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Foster a positive, collaborative, culturally safe team environment Guide service development and innovation in response to community needs Support staff growth through supervision, coaching and professional development Operational Management Oversee referrals, intake, case allocation and case load management Lead team meetings, case reviews and service coordinationEnsure compliance with reporting, funding agreements and quality standards Clinical & Practice Oversight Provide supervision and support for complex and high-risk cases Embed best practice approaches including trauma-informed care and family-centred practice Ensure quality documentation, assessments and care planning Partnerships & Community Engagement Build strong relationships with external agencies and stakeholders Strengthen referral pathways and integrated service delivery Represent Gidgee Healing in the community and across networks What You’ll Bring Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, with a strong understanding of cultural safety and community needs Proven leadership experience in human services, health, or family support programs Strong background in case management, supervision, and trauma-informed practice Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality service delivery Qualifications & Requirements Diploma or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related field (or equivalent experience) Current C Class Driver’s Licence Blue Card (or willingness to obtain) Willingness to travel to remote communities as required Why Join Gidgee Healing?
