Consultant Palliative Care Physician | Tertiary Referral Hospital | Northern Territory The Opportunity We are working closely with a major tertiary referral health service in the Northern Territory to connect with a Consultant Palliative Care Physician for a full-time appointment within a service delivering specialist palliative care across a geographically vast and clinically diverse region. This role offers the opportunity to provide consultant-level palliative care across inpatient and consultative settings while contributing to end-of-life care pathways for patients from urban, regional and remote communities. The position will suit a physician seeking meaningful scope, complex multidisciplinary practice and the chance to work in a service where cultural safety, service integration and regional impact are central to daily clinical work. Territory Palliative Care is based at the main tertiary hospital in Darwin and supports care across the Top End, with recent NT Health recognition highlighting the importance of culturally safe end-of-life care in this setting. The Hospital This is the principal tertiary referral hospital for the Top End and a key hub within the Northern Territory public health system, supporting acute, specialist and sub-specialty services across a large regional and remote catchment. NT Health’s recent annual reporting also notes ongoing infrastructure expansion at the campus, including a new 32-bed modular ward and a new 24-bed mental health ward.
