Primary objective Provide coordinated education programs, sound clinical and education advice, and may provide direct clinical care for complex client presentations within the specialty area. Context statement This role provides high level Emergency Nursing expertise, education and coaching for staff working within the Division of Emergency Medicine. The Divisional Education Service uses adult learning principles to engage, support and provide assessment to Nursing and Medical staff of all levels and this includes support through delivery of external courses and clinical assessment and mentoring from the novice to post graduate level. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Provide specialist education advice and support professional development activities within a defined area of practice. 2. Provide direct support, instruction, and feedback, including mentoring students, graduates, and less experienced staff, across the multidisciplinary team. 3. Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues. 4. Follows defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. 5. Fosters a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour. Selection criteria Essential 1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same. 2. Demonstrated highly developed clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in a relevant area of nursing/midwifery. 3. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development and/or delivery of education theory and practice. 4. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education and professional development for the specialist practice area. 5. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate a positive learning environment. 6. Demonstrates well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence health care provision for individuals and groups. Desirable 1. Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty area.
