About the role Stratos Civil is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our team within the Cairns / Cassowary Coast Region. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing civil construction projects and ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. As Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing on-site operations, coordinating teams, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and company procedures. This position is integral to our operational success and directly impacts project delivery and team performance. Key responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications and timelines Manage and motivate construction teams, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure productivity and safety standards are maintained Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide progress updates and address any concerns or change requests Maintain detailed records of daily activities, worker hours, material usage, and any incidents or safety issues that occur on site Ensure all plant, equipment, and materials are used efficiently and stored appropriately Identify and resolve operational problems promptly, implementing corrective actions where necessary Enforce compliance with WorkSafe regulations, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements Assist in the coordination of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution Prepare and submit reports on project progress, labour allocation, and resource utilisation What we're looking for Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor or similar supervisory role within the construction industry, preferably with 5 years in a civil construction environment Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, construction methodologies, and industry standards relevant to Queensland Excellent understanding of workplace health and safety regulations, with a current or ability to obtain relevant safety certifications (such as White Card and Site Supervisor qualifications) Demonstrated ability to manage teams, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and motivate staff to achieve project objectives Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple activities simultaneously Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings Experience with construction management software and basic computer literacy A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Far North Queensland region as required Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgement in decision-making A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism on all projects What we offer At Stratos Civil, we value our employees and are committed to providing a supportive and professional working environment.
