About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Leader to provide leadership, coordination and support within one of our residential care placements in Toowoomba. As a Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality care and support is delivered to young people, while leading and mentoring a team of Care Team Members. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines direct support, staff supervision, operational oversight and stakeholder engagement. The successful applicant will be committed to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and creating a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment in which they can succeed. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate a team of Care Team Members within a residential placement. Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to staff. Ensure young people receive high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally safe care. Promote positive relationships, life skills development and independence for young people. Coordinate placement routines, appointments, education participation and activities. Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, legislative requirements and departmental standards. Complete and review case notes, incident reports, medication records and other documentation. Participate in on-call responsibilities as required. Build and maintain positive working relationships with Child Safety, families, schools, therapeutic supports and other stakeholders. Monitor placement needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve outcomes for young people. Contribute to the recruitment, induction and development of staff. About You You are a strong leader who can build positive relationships with both young people and staff. You lead by example, remain calm under pressure and are passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Essential Requirements Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology or a related field. Demonstrated experience working with young people in residential care, youth services, child protection or a similar environment. Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising staff. Sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and child-safe principles. Strong communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Current Queensland Driver Licence. Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check). National Police Check. Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain). Desirable Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and communities. Knowledge of the Child Protection Act and residential care requirements. Experience working within the Queensland out-of-home care sector. Why Join Warrama Li?
