About the role Fremantle Fuel Injection is seeking a skilled and experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in South Fremantle, WA, this is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of diesel vehicles and engines. As a key member of our specialised team, you will play an essential role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and their vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern diagnostic equipment and contribute to the continued success of our well respected business that is family owned and has been operating for over 35 years. What you'll be doing Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and testing procedures Removal and refit of diesel fuel injection components (pumps, injectors and turbochargers) Various mechanical repairs including valve sets, timing belts/chains, water pumps etc Occasional general servicing and light vehicle repairs Occasional truck, industrial and agricultural work Document all work completed accurately, including parts used and labour hours Communicate clearly with senior technician repairs needed, and vehicle condition etc Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety standards Keep up to date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques relevant to light vehicles Assist colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment What we're looking for A current automotive technician qualification or equivalent recognised trade certification Must have the right to work in Australia Proven experience working as a mechanic in a professional workshop environment Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical components Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and modern workshop tools Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and service documentation Excellent problem solving skills with an attention to detail Strong communication and customer service skills A commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude towards ongoing professional development A current driver's licence is essential Previous experience with fuel injection systems and diagnostic equipment is highly desirable What we offer At Fremantle Fuel Injection, we value our team members and are committed to providing a supportive work environment.
