Project Officer Location: Parramatta Employment type: Temporary Full time up to 3 years Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 ($113,574 - $125,720 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The role supports effective project and portfolio governance within the PMO (Project Management Office) by ensuring consistent application of frameworks, accurate reporting, and transparent oversight. It is responsible for coordinating governance activities, maintaining project documentation, consolidating and analysing performance information, and supporting assurance and decision‑making forums. Through strong stakeholder engagement and disciplined reporting practices, the role enables visibility, accountability and informed decision‑making across the project lifecycle. What you’ll do Part of the Infrastructure and Assets Division within Corporate Services, you are responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day governance and reporting activities of the PMO, working closely with project teams to ensure consistent application of frameworks, accurate tracking of progress, and timely reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining project documentation, coordinating governance forums and approvals, consolidating and analysing project data, and preparing reports and briefs for stakeholders. The role actively monitors risks, issues, schedules and budgets, supports assurance activities, and acts as a key point of contact to facilitate information flow, compliance, and informed decision‑making across the project lifecycle. The role is part of a collaborative, fast paced, and outcomes focused Major Projects team. The environment is supportive, dynamic, and centred around delivering high impact capital and program initiatives for communities and justice services. The team values open communication, shared problem solving, and reliability. Everyone works closely across disciplines including program delivery, governance, procurement, commercial and PMO functions. What we’re looking for The ideal candidate is a confident communicator with strong experience in governance and reporting within a PMO. They bring demonstrated capability in navigating critical issues, preparing and coordinating high quality executive documents for governance forums working effectively across diverse stakeholder groups. Experience supporting major projects is highly desirable.
