About the role We are seeking a Truck Driver HR to join our team on a full-time basis in Canberra, ACT . This is a critical position that ensures the safe and efficient transportation of landscaping materials, equipment, and waste throughout the Canberra region. As Truck Driver HR, you will be responsible for operating heavy vehicles, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and supporting our landscaping operations by ensuring timely delivery and collection of materials. This role is essential to keeping our operations running smoothly and ensuring our customers receive exceptional service. Key responsibilities Operate and drive heavy vehicles safely and professionally in accordance with all relevant traffic laws and company policies Transport landscaping materials, equipment, and waste to and from job sites across the Canberra region Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance Load and secure materials on the truck bed, ensuring loads are balanced and properly secured Adhere to all road safety regulations and company safety protocols Communicate effectively with site supervisors and office staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly Contribute to a positive and safe work environment for all team members What we're looking for A current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence appropriate for the vehicles used in our operations Proven experience operating heavy vehicles in commercial or landscaping environments A clean driving record and demonstrated commitment to road safety Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting skills Physical fitness and ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance or willingness to obtain one (preferred) Silica, Asbestos Awareness and Construction White cards essential What we offer At Able Landscaping, we value our employees and are committed to providing a rewarding work environment.
