Spinifex Recruiting has partnered with a leading international infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Senior WHS Safety Manager for a major project commencing in the South Riverina region. This is a pivotal leadership appointment responsible for driving safety performance across a significant construction project during a critical phase of delivery. Working alongside senior project leadership, you will play a key role in shaping safety culture, influencing operational decision-making, and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are achieved. The Opportunity As the Senior Safety Manager, you will provide leadership and direction across all project safety functions, ensuring systems, processes and behaviours align with both legislative requirements and project objectives. You will be a highly visible presence on site, partnering closely with project management, supervisors, subcontractors and client representatives to deliver a best-practice safety culture. Key responsibilities will include: Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of project safety management systems. Providing advice and guidance to project leadership on risk management and compliance obligations. Driving a proactive safety culture through engagement, coaching and leadership. Overseeing workplace inspections, audits and assurance activities. Managing incident investigations, reporting and corrective action processes. Facilitating workforce engagement initiatives, inductions and safety forums. Monitoring project performance against key safety objectives and KPIs. Ensuring compliance with client, legislative and company safety requirements. Mentoring and developing safety personnel across the project team. About You You are an experienced safety professional who understands that effective safety management is achieved through strong leadership, communication and influence. You have the ability to engage operational teams, challenge behaviours when required and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels of the business. To be successful in this role, you will possess: Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety as a minimum. Diploma in Work Health & Safety or higher qualifications highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in a Safety Manager, Senior Safety Advisor or similar leadership position. Strong understanding of WHS legislation and contemporary safety management practices. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. High level of computer literacy and confidence using digital reporting platforms. Current Driver Licence and White Card. Additional qualifications such as First Aid, Emergency Response, ICAM, Lead Auditor or High-Risk Work Licences will be viewed favourably.
