Join a Market Leader in Steel Distribution Southern Steel Supplies is seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand to join our Murray Bridge operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, warehouse experience and a commitment to safety, customer service and operational excellence. Working closely with the Branch & Operations Supervisor, you will lead the warehouse team, ensuring customer orders are picked, processed and dispatched accurately, safely and on time. About the Role Your responsibilities will include: Leading and supervising warehouse personnel during the day shift. This is a hands-on role that requires you to be physically fit. Checking all outgoing loads for accuracy prior to dispatch. Ensuring orders are picked accurately and efficiently. Monitoring safe and legal loading practices. Coordinating workflow to ensure processing and delivery deadlines are achieved. Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse. Identifying stock requirements for processing operations. Providing excellent service to trade and retail customers collecting orders. Participating in toolbox meetings and promoting a positive safety culture. Assisting with dispatch office duties as required. Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity. About You The successful applicant will possess: Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or steel distribution environment. Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team. Excellent organisational and time management skills. The ability to prioritise work and manage multiple tasks. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety. A proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Hold a current forklift licence. Hold a current driver's licence.
