A full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant – Tax & Business Services to join a well-established public practice accounting firm in Sydney’s inner-south, near the airport. This role would suit an accountant with Australian public practice experience who enjoys preparing financial statements, tax returns and compliance work for SME clients, while also building strong client relationships in a supportive and professional team environment. Requires Australian public practice tax experience Based in Inner-South Suburbs of Sydney (near the airport) Salary guide: $95,000–$120,000 super, depending on experience, CA/CPA status and client management capability. Common responsibilities include preparing financial statements and financial analyses, completing federal/state/local and other tax returns, reconciling general ledger and balance sheet accounts, resolving non-compliance and discrepancy issues, and servicing clients through ongoing communication. Your normal day will have you: Coordinating accounting functions and programs. Preparing financial analyses and reports. Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure. Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets. Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Engaging with and servicing clients to meet or exceed their expectations Investigating and resolving account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance. Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns. Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures. Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
