Blast Hole Driller - Drill & Blast Operations Southern Explosives Supplies is seeking experienced Blast Hole Drillers to join our drill-and-blast team. We are a well-established, Australian family-owned business with more than 40 years’ experience providing full drill-and-blast services to the quarrying, mining and civil construction sectors. This role is predominantly based in Tarago/Goulburn and the surrounding areas, with most work structured so that employees can return home each night. From time to time, there may be a requirement to work away depending on project and site requirements. About the role In this role, you will operate blast-hole drill rigs across quarrying, mining, and civil construction sites. Your responsibilities will include: Operating blast hole drill rigs safely, efficiently and responsibly. Completing pre-start checks, daily inspections and basic operator maintenance. Maintaining safe work practices and good housekeeping standards. Working to production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Travelling to and from work sites as required. The role generally operates on a 5/2 roster, Monday to Friday. Shifts are generally 10 to 12 hours, with optional weekend work and overtime available. A company vehicle is provided for travel to and from work sites. About you You will be an experienced Blast Hole Driller who takes pride in operating machinery safely, properly and professionally. You will be reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently or as part of a team. You will have strong attention to detail and be confident in following site procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements. You will also be willing to travel to work sites as required, while understanding that most work is structured so employees can return home each night. To be successful in this role, you will need previous blast hole drilling experience, an unrestricted driver’s licence and current Australian working rights. You must also be willing to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening. Highly regarded Experience operating Epiroc and Furukawa blast hole drill rigs. Certificate in drilling operations or similar qualification. Experience working across quarrying, mining, civil construction or drill-and-blast environments. Please note: this is not a FIFO role.
