This is a contract opportunity running from 10 August 2026 through to 9 August 2029, offering stability and the chance to contribute to high-profile public infrastructure initiatives. Your new role As an AO6 Communications Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of communication and engagement activities across major infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams and senior stakeholders, you will provide practical advice on communication strategies, help manage risks and issues, and ensure consistent and effective messaging across a variety of audiences. Your role will involve building strong relationships across government, industry partners, and the community, while coordinating engagement activities and ensuring communication plans are executed effectively. You will also play a key role in supporting governance processes and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and standards. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Experience delivering communications or community engagement within complex project environmentsStrong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across diverse groupsCapability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced settingProven experience supporting communication strategies, media liaison, and stakeholder engagement activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of correspondence and briefing materialsAn understanding of governance, compliance, and working within structured frameworksYou will also bring experience working on infrastructure, transport, or construction-related projects, or within similarly complex environments. While not essential, tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field will be highly regarded, along with formal engagement or communications certifications.
