You can find out more at youturn.org.au . Job Description When someone loses a loved one to suicide, the response they receive matters. It needs to be timely. It needs to be consistent. It needs to be right. StandBy exists to make sure that happens—supporting individuals, families and communities in some of their most critical moments. But that kind of support doesn’t just happen. Behind it is a network of providers, agreements, expectations, and partnerships— all needing to work together, seamlessly, and with accountability. That’s where you come in. The Role Behind the Impact This isn’t contract management as usual. You’re not just reviewing terms or tracking compliance. You are the person ensuring that across the StandBy service network: Providers are delivering what communities need Services are consistent, safe and high-quality Risks are identified early, not after something goes wrong Accountability is real, not just documented You’re connecting the “what was promised” with “what is actually happening.” What You’ll Be Doing (And Why It Matters) You’ll lead the way contracts come to life, not just on paper, but in practice. You’ll Steward The System Oversee contracts supporting StandBy services, ensuring obligations are clear, understood and delivered Coordinate contract setup, variations and renewals in line with funding and organisational requirements Maintain strong governance and documentation that protects service integrity You’ll Hold The Line On Quality And Accountability Monitor provider performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities Lead performance conversations that are honest, constructive and outcome-focused Support improvement where it’s needed, and recognise where things are working well You’ll Manage What Others Might Miss Identify risks before they escalate Support issue resolution with calm, practical judgement Ensure compliance, audit readiness and assurance activities are always on track You’ll Build Partnerships, Not Just Manage Contracts Work closely with providers, commissioning teams, and internal stakeholders Be a trusted point of contact across the network Strengthen relationships that ultimately improve service delivery Why This Role Is Different In many roles, contract management is about control. Here, it’s about stewardship. You’re not just enforcing agreements, you’re helping shape how services are delivered to real people, in real moments that matter. Desired Skills And Experience Who This Will Speak To This Role Is For Someone Who Understands that good contracts lead to better outcomes, not just better reporting Is comfortable having honest performance conversations that drive improvement Thinks beyond compliance and asks: “Is this actually working?” Can balance detail, risk, relationships and outcomes with clarity and confidence Enjoys complexity, but always keeps purpose front of mind Leads through influence, not hierarchy What You Bring You bring a blend of technical capability, judgement and purpose: Experience in contract management, provider oversight, commissioning or service performance Strong understanding of governance, compliance and accountability in funded environments Ability to interpret performance data and translate it into meaningful action Confidence navigating risk, ambiguity and competing priorities Highly developed relationship-building and communication skills A mindset focused on improvement, not just maintenance Your Experience & Qualifications We’re less interested in perfect checklists, and more interested in capability and intent — but typically, you’ll have: A relevant tertiary qualification in business, public administration, health, human services, law or a related discipline Demonstrated experience in contract management, provider management, commissioning, compliance, or performance oversight roles Experience working in government-funded, regulated, or complex service delivery environments Exposure to provider performance reporting, compliance monitoring, or assurance activities If your experience looks a little different, but you know you can do this work well… we still want to hear from you. Why Youturn | StandBy Work connected to a service with genuine national impact Be part of a system that supports people at deeply important moments Collaborate with passionate, purpose-driven professionals Influence how services are delivered, not just how they’re reported Join an organisation that values accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement What We Offer We provide a rewarding and supportive employment experience designed to help you thrive both professionally and personally: Competitive remuneration package aligned to your experience and impact 12% superannuation plus salary packaging up to $15,900, and an additional $2,650 for meal entertainment to maximise your take-home pay Access to additional salary packaging benefits where eligible (including remote area benefits, relocation expenses and car parking) 5 days paid wellness leave each year (pro-rata) to prioritise your wellbeing 12 weeks paid parental leave after 12 months of service Annual leave loading for added financial support during time off The Bottom Line If you’re someone who can look at a contract and see more than obligations, if you see people, outcomes, and responsibility… If you want to play a role in ensuring services don’t just exist, but deliver as intended… And if you believe strong systems quietly enable the most important work… We’d love to hear from you.
