To find out more about us visit: www.fpg.com.au About the Team Our payroll team of three sits within the Human Resources Department and manages over 20 weekly payrolls across the group. We’re a close-knit, collaborative team that values knowledge sharing and teamwork to deliver high-quality payroll services in a fast-paced environment. With a flat organisational structure and an open-plan office layout, you’ll work closely alongside the broader HR team and other key stakeholders, gaining mentorship, experience, and exposure across the business. About the Role Based at our Sydney Markets Head Office, the Payroll Officer is responsible for delivering accurate and timely weekly payrolls across multiple business units within the group. The role manages end-to-end payroll processes, including onboarding and payroll setup for new employees, while ensuring compliance with all legislative, Award, and company requirements. Key responsibilities include: Process weekly payrolls accurately and within required timeframes across multiple business units. Manage onboarding and payroll setup for new employees, ensuring correct documentation and system entry. Administer employee deductions, allowances, and adjustments in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements. Support the management of workers compensation claims, including processing related payroll transactions and maintaining accurate records. Prepare ad hoc payroll reports, including month-end analysis. Monitor and manage the shared payroll inbox, responding promptly to employee queries. Contribute to ad hoc project work and provide support to the broader Human Resources team as required. This is a part-time role three days per week, Monday to Wednesday. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring at least one day in the office per week. About you You’re an analytical, organised payroll professional with exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing accuracy with efficiency and collaboration. In addition you should have: Minimum 3 years experience in a payroll position. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, workers compensation, and taxation requirements. Experience interpreting awards and industrial instruments (Horticulture Award experience desirable). Experience using Access Definitiv or similar payroll systems (desirable). Proficiency in Excel, including data manipulation and reporting. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
