About the job The Retail Catering & Events Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and service of all retail food and beverage outlets within PCEC. To the highest possible PCEC standard, and where possible exceeds customer expectations. This role demands a naturally energetic and flexible individual with a "Can-do" attitude who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced events environment and has proven capacity to work well under pressure and to strict rolling timelines. The successful applicant will also require the capacity to deal effectively with multiple tasks and competing demands. Key Responsibilities Organize the day-to-day operation of the food and beverage outlets, making sure each outlet is opened on time and staffed correctly Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues during retail operating hours quickly and professionally. Ensure the highest level of hygiene in all outlets and storage areas by ensuring cleaning schedules are being followed Monitor wastage and report monthly on food and beverage stock levels Team Leadership Lead and direct casual team members during retail operating hours. Provide coaching and performance feedback in real time. Ensure all team members adhere to SOPs and maintain a professional appearance and attitude. Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain positive working relationships with exhibitors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Represent the convention centre professionally and ensure client satisfaction during events. Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs when required. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure all operating hours are delivered in compliance with WHS legislation, venue policies, and risk management protocols. Conduct safety checks and support emergency response procedures where necessary. Complete incident and hazard reports in accordance with company policy. Venue Standards & Asset Management Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all event spaces. Report and follow up on any damage, maintenance needs, or safety issues. Selection Criteria Essential Proven experience in retail hospitality. Leadership experience within event operations, food and beverage outlets and cafes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving abilities. Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Full working rights in Australia. Western Australia RSA and Unrestricted Approved Manager Qualification (willing to obtain if necessary, for the role). Desirable Formal qualifications in Event Management, Hospitality, or similar.
