The Role As a Payroll and Rates Support Officer , you will be supporting the Payroll & Rates Team in everyday tasks to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance. You Will: Support in the determination and maintenance of pay rates and client charge-out rates in line with applicable awards, enterprise agreements, and contractual terms Incorporate loadings, allowances, penalty rates, and other award conditions into pay and charge rate structures Apply overheads, on-costs, and profit margins to develop client charge rates Support Rates Team during the review and update rates in response to Fair Work increases, EBA changes, and legislative amendments Ensure payroll and rates processes comply with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, relevant Awards/EBAs, and tax legislation. Assist with audits and compliance reviews relating to payroll and pay rates Support accurate and compliant billing by ensuring charge rates align with pay rates, overheads, margins and award obligations Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll and employee data Maintain up to date currency and knowledge of award, contractual requirements relevant to Labour Hire and Group Training Support the Rates Team in data integrity and reporting processes to support compliance with standards and other regulatory frameworks Prepare accurate and timely internal and external reports in collaboration with the Payroll team Work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to streamline data flow and system integrations Cross check timesheets and pay reports weekly and assist with month end and end of financial year reporting Respond to telephone & email enquiries from employees and host employers and answer payroll queries Skills And Experiences About You Experience in payroll processing and utilisation of Payroll and/or Workforce systems and are known for your accuracy, proactive communication and willingness to collaborate You have: Strong understanding of award interpretation, modern awards and enterprise agreements Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, organisational and time management skills High attention to detail, accuracy and data integrity Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Advanced computer skills including significant experience with Microsoft Excel and proven ability to work with various data base programs A current National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), or willing to obtain A current Working with Children Check, or willing to obtain You may also have: Certificate III/IV or higher in Business, Payroll, Accounting or related qualification(s) Experience in completing costings/rates for labour hire or contracting services This is a Full-Time position.
