This role requires a hands-on leader with strong poultry husbandry knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of animal welfare, farm hygiene, and production efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage and run the entire farm operation, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant daily workflows. Be on call daily while birds are on-site, responding promptly to animal health, equipment or environmental issues. Oversee all aspects of raising poultry for chicken meat production, maintaining optimal welfare conditions. Manage the daily husbandry requirements of chickens, including feeding, health checks, lighting, ventilation, and shed conditions. Operate and monitor computerised farming systems, production data, and ordering platforms. Prepare and deliver weekly reports and production updates to the producer when required. Direct, supervise, and maintain general farming activities, ensuring sheds, farming equipment, and infrastructure are kept in excellent order. Ensure farm roads, fencing, water systems, and utilities are maintained to a high standard at all times. Hire contractors, supervise staff and workers, and ensure safe and efficient workflow. Coordinate with the producer for placement of day-old chicks and collection of grown birds, following production schedules. Manage and maintain the farm's financial and administrative records.
