This role owns technology delivery end-to-end across one of three scheme-aligned portfolios, partnering as a peer with business leaders in a "2-in-the-box" model. About the role You'll lead all technology delivery across your portfolio - translating business strategy into roadmaps and executable plans, then driving them through to scalable, secure and sustainable outcomes. You sit beside the business as an equal, not behind it: shaping priorities, advising on architecture and trade-offs and holding the line on engineering quality across every initiative. It's a seat for someone who has run delivery at this scale before and knows that the hard part is rarely the technology - it's the alignment, the governance and the judgement calls. The scope One of three scheme-aligned portfolios, owned end-to-end Up to 6 direct reports, with cross-functional squads beneath them A "2-in-the-box" partnership with a scheme or enabling-function business lead Full accountability for delivery performance, technical quality and roadmap What you'll do Partner with your business lead to shape, prioritise and deliver the technology that matters most to those we serve Translate strategy and operational need into delivery roadmaps, solution approaches and executable plans Act as the primary technology advisor across your portfolio - architecture, solution options, risk, dependencies and trade-offs Lead and coordinate cross-functional squads to deliver across initiatives and operational change Own delivery performance end-to-end: solution quality, stability, scalability, resilience and non-functional requirements Drive engineering standards and architectural principles so quality holds across every solution Mentor delivery teams and squad leaders to lift capability, delivery maturity and engineering excellence Contribute to technology investment planning and portfolio roadmap development What you'll bring 10 years in technology delivery, engineering leadership or transformation within enterprise environments, including large-scale portfolio delivery A track record partnering with senior business stakeholders to turn strategy into roadmaps, solutions and measurable outcomes Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, platforms and integration, gained in environments with established security and governance frameworks Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills strong enough to make you a trusted advisor at executive level Proven leadership developing teams and driving delivery maturity and engineering excellence What's in it for you A corporate wellbeing program with subsidised gym membership, free flu vaccinations and health checks An extra day's leave through icare day Learning and development aligned to icare's Core Capabilities Recognition through Our People Awards - on-the-spot, quarterly and annual Access to our Employee Assistance Program About icare We care for the people of NSW, building confidence and trust so our communities can thrive.
