This is a Allied Health Assistant role with St John of God Health Care based in Warrnambool, VIC, AU St John of God Health Care Role Seniority - junior More about the Allied Health Assistant role at St John of God Health Care Your Role at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital The Allied Health Assistant will be required to provide clinical and administrative support to physiotherapists, occupational therapists, other therapy and nursing staff as required. The Position Provide clinical assistance to the physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing and other health care professionals as required. Actively monitor the environment and implement safe work practices to ensure patient and staff safety. Participate in staff education programs as required. Involvement with research as appropriate. Comply with hospital and department policies and procedures. Supervise and assist patients in exercise routines, gait activities and daily living activities as directed by the treating allied health care professional. Assist with patient treatment as required. Assist with patient transfers, dressing and showering in hydrotherapy (if applicable). Identify client circumstances that need additional input from the Allied Health Professional and communicate this in clinical handover. Be aware of contraindications, precautions and hazards relating to specific patient management. Ensure that infection control procedures are strictly adhered to in all areas. Report all hazards regarding patients promptly to the treating allied health caregiver or Allied Health Manager. You will have Certificate III Allied Health Assistance or suitable experience in a similar position and ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures. Commitment to completing Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is desirable. To succeed you will have developed interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to others in a sensitive and professional manner.
