The Role We are currently seeking multiple Commercial Finance Specialists to support a major mining operation in North Queensland on a 6–12 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for Brisbane-based finance professionals who are open to short-term FIFO work to North QLD and want to make a real impact on site operations. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a critical role in partnering with operational leaders, delivering financial insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the site. This position combines commercial finance, operational engagement, and continuous improvement, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy working closely with stakeholders in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Provide commercial insights to support leadership and operational decision-making Deliver business case modelling for capital expenditure initiatives Support discipline managers with reporting tools for asset reliability and lifecycle management Partner with stakeholders to develop and evaluate risk mitigation strategies Analyse financial performance and identify root causes of variances Conduct cost assessments and recommend improvements across CAPEX and OPEX Support forecasting and budgeting processes, including risk and opportunity analysis Deliver detailed reporting with meaningful operational commentary Identify and drive commercial improvement opportunities The Candidate Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar CA/CPA qualified or currently studying towards Strong commercial finance experience within complex or large organisations Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in fast-paced environments Experience within mining or heavy industry would be great What’s on Offer 6–12 month contract with potential extension FIFO opportunity to North Queensland from Brisbane (Company Funded) Exposure to a large-scale mining operation Opportunity to partner directly with operational leaders TO APPLY If you are interested in working with a global mining company and are open to FIFO work in North Queensland, please apply now or contact Yunaldi on 0456 923 953 for a confidential conversation.
