As we prepare to open a brand-new state-of-the-art private hospital this August, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse for our surgical ward. The hospital will offer a comprehensive range of surgical care including: Orthopaedics Ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery General Surgery Plastic and reconstructive surgery Maxillofacial surgery Urology Gynaecology You will be responsible for the delivery of patient centred care to achieve optimal patient outcomes within allocated resources whilst supporting and promoting the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC). This will be achieved through visible, effective leadership of the service, the standard of nursing practice and quality of patient centred care, the prudent use of resources and the building of effective relationships particularly with key medical practitioners. The Position Maintain advanced clinical skills and provide direct clinical care in specialty practice. Act as a clinical resource in the clinical specialty, in consultation with the multidisciplinary team. Evaluate the quality of practice in the area of specialty. Initiate and coordinate care of patients with complex problems in the clinical specialty. Evaluate the quality of practice in the area of specialty. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, patient and families in formulating care plans throughout the continuum of care. Maintain an intentional and dedicated focus on patient safety, person-centred care and experience at all times. Demonstrate both clinical and administrative leadership through effective communication, interpersonal skills and change management capability reflective of a culture of professional accountability and quality service. Promote and maintain collaborative relationships with accredited Medical Practitioners. Actively participate in all relevant clinical and non-clinical committees within and externally to the hospital. Review clinical practice to ensure effective use of available resources. Lead, develop and contribute to the implementation of best practice standards relevant to the area of specialty using an evidence-based approach and innovative solutions to continually lift the standards of practice. All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor You will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and have relevant experience in surgical nursing. To succeed you will have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary health care environment and hold skills in clinical teaching with a knowledge of and commitment to quality improvement. About the new Midland Private Hospital A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus.
