TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including wines, beers and spirits in accordance with RSA obligations and venue service standards Set up and clear tables and event spaces before and after service including laying covers Serve food and beverages efficiently and correctly Greet and seat guests, take food and beverage orders accurately, and deliver a welcoming, attentive service experience consistent with the venue’s standard Process payments accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and EFTPOS transactions, and reconcile at end of service Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area, bar, and service stations in compliance with food safety standards under the Food Standards Code Communicate menu items, specials, allergens, and dietary options clearly and accurately to guests, escalating any complex dietary queries to the kitchen Assist with banquet, conference, and event service including buffet management, canapé service, AV support coordination, and room flips between sessions Support bar setup and breakdown, stock replenishment, cellar rotation, and basic bar inventory counts as directed by the Venue Manager or F&B Supervisor Comply with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements at all times, including identifying and managing intoxicated or underage guests in line with venue policy and state liquor licensing legislation TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is mandatory Food Handling Certificate (or equivalent unit SITXFSA005 / SITXFSA006) is required by most clients Certificate III in Hospitality (SIT30622) or Certificate III in Food & Beverage (SIT30516/SIT30622) is highly regarded Barista training or a recognised short course is desirable First Aid & CPR (HLTAID011) is required by some clients WORK HISTORY Roles are available from entry-level casual (with valid RSA and food handling certification) through to experienced senior attendants and F&B supervisors.
