Job Description Position: APS3 Records Services Officer Location: Brisbane, QLD Start date: ASAP Duration: Approx. 6 months with potential to extend Pay rate: $48.60 per hour plus 12% super Requirements: Must be an Australian citizen at time of application and have records experience Overview Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS3 Records Services Officer to join their Records Operations team This role supports the management of physical records and contributes to the preparation, digitisation, storage, and transfer of records to the National Archives of Australia (NAA). The successful candidate will undertake practical records management activities, maintain accurate records, and support the efficient delivery of records operations in accordance with established procedures and work health and safety requirements. Responsibilities • Prepare paper records in accordance with established procedures and work instructions. • Retrieve records from on-site holdings, including sorting and shelving files in correct alpha-numerical order. • Accurately capture and maintain record information and metadata using Excel spreadsheets and approved systems. • Prepare records for digitisation and transfer to the National Archives of Australia. • Maintain basic statistics and records relating to completed work activities. • Undertake manual handling tasks, including moving archive boxes and packing pallets, in accordance with WHS requirements. • Assist with records management projects and operational activities as required. • Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed timeframes. • Support the Records Operations team in delivering efficient and compliant records management services. • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Team Leader or management. Experience/Requirements • Experience working in an administrative, records management, operational support, warehousing, logistics, or similar environment (records management preferred) • Ability to follow documented procedures, work instructions, and established processes. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records. • Demonstrated ability to manage routine workloads and meet agreed deadlines. • Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and other digital tools. • Ability to work independently within established guidelines and seek guidance when required. • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a collaborative environment. • Good organisational skills and a reliable, proactive approach to work. • Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements. • Ability to undertake manual handling duties, including lifting boxes up to 10kg Apply now or contact SOS Recruitment on 6260 8888 for a confidential discussion.
