The Role We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of core financial reporting, month-end processes, and day-to-day accounting operations. Prepare monthly management reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements to support timely and accurate decision-making. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis across stores and business units. Oversee general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies. Support the year-end audit process, statutory reporting requirements, and tax compliance activities including BAS and payroll tax. Partner closely with operational and store leadership to provide financial insight on performance, margins, stock, and cost control. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, and strengthen financial controls across the business. Mentor junior finance team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture. About You You are a qualified or near-qualified accountant with solid experience in a senior accounting role. You bring strong financial reporting and month-end expertise, ideally gained within retail, FMCG, food, or other fast-moving environments . You are commercially minded and confident translating numbers into practical business insights. You have a strong understanding of reconciliations, journals, compliance requirements, and management reporting. You're highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting. You have strong systems skills, with experience using ERP or accounting platforms and advanced Excel capability. You're a proactive communicator who can build effective relationships across finance and non-finance teams. You enjoy working in a hands-on role where you can support both day-to-day operations and broader business improvement initiatives.
