Manager Waste Operations Sunshine Coast Council | Executive Leadership Role | Competitive Package | 4 Year Contract Public Sector People are partnering with Sunshine Coast Council to appoint a Manager Waste Operations — a critical leadership role responsible for delivering essential waste services across one of Australia's fastest-growing regions. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Natural Assets, this role sits within the Directorate Senior Leadership Team and combines operational leadership with strategic influence, helping shape the future of waste services for a community of more than 370,000 residents. The Role You will lead a large and complex operational environment, ensuring safe, reliable and customer-focused waste services while contributing to long-term planning and service improvement. Key responsibilities include: Leading waste collection, resource recovery and disposal services Driving continuous improvement, service excellence and operational efficiency Managing major waste contracts and commercial arrangements Overseeing operational and capital budgets Contributing to waste strategy, capital planning and future service models Building strong relationships across government, industry and the community Leading and developing a high-performing multidisciplinary team This is a highly visible leadership role with direct influence on critical community services and environmental outcomes. About You You are an experienced operational leader with a background in waste, utilities, infrastructure, environmental services or a similarly complex service environment.
