Your new role Reporting directly to the Business Owner, you will lead the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the business. Acting as the central point of coordination across office and field teams, you will ensure delivery across enquiries, quoting, scheduling, installations, and job close-out is efficient, profitable, and of a consistently high standard. Initially, youll focus on understanding the business, building team trust, capturing key knowledge, and ensuring a smooth ownership transition. As you establish control, youll drive operational improvements, build internal capability, and partner with the owner to deliver sustainable growth. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a commercially minded operator who enjoys being close to the detail while leading from the front. Key responsibilities Oversee the full operational lifecycle from enquiry to job completion Lead, mentor, and develop office and field teams Drive productivity, scheduling efficiency, customer experience, and profitability Establish clear workflows, reporting, and operating rhythms Monitor key metrics including revenue, conversion, and performance Maintain customer relationships and protect business reputation Identify bottlenecks and implement practical improvements Partner with the owner on growth initiatives and scalability What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a practical, commercially minded leader who is comfortable operating in a small business environment. You will bring:Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Service Manager or similar leadership roleStrong leadership capability across both office and field-based teamsA hands-on approach and willingness to get into operational detailSolid commercial acumen, including understanding of profitability, pricing, productivity and performance driversExperience improving workflows, systems, reporting and team productivityThe ability to build trust, lead through change and maintain team stabilityA calm, solutions-focused mindset and high level of personal accountabilityStrong communication skills and the ability to work closely with an entrepreneurial ownerExperience within trade services, construction, building services, installation, field service or similar operational environments will be highly regarded.
