We're partnering with a local government organisation in Melbourne's south east to recruit an experienced HR Policy Writer for an immediate 2-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running and produce high-quality HR policies and procedures in a fast-paced environment. About the Role Reporting to the Employee Relations Lead, you'll be responsible for reviewing, developing and updating People & Culture policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure they are compliant with legislation and aligned with best practice. This is a hands-on writing role requiring someone who is efficient, highly organised and capable of producing a high volume of quality documentation. Key Responsibilities Draft, review and update HR policies, procedures and related documentation. Interpret and apply Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and industrial relations requirements. Ensure all documentation is legally compliant, practical and fit for purpose. Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather information and finalise documentation. Support broader Employee Relations initiatives where required. About You Proven experience writing HR policies and procedures from the ground up. Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations. Exceptional written communication and document drafting skills. Able to work independently and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Must have the ability to interpret legislation and develop policies manually.
