Principal Data Architect Brisbane CBD | 12 month contract | Azure Data Platform Play a leading role in shaping the future of enterprise data capability for a major Queensland Government department. We're seeking an experienced Principal Data Architect to establish and lead a whole-of-department data architecture function that will underpin strategic decision-making, digital transformation and enterprise analytics. This is a rare opportunity to influence how data is governed, integrated and leveraged across a large and complex organisation. What you'll be doing: Design and implement the department's enterprise data architecture Develop target-state data models, standards and architectural principles Establish a modern Azure-based enterprise data platform Lead data governance, quality and compliance initiatives Partner with business and ICT stakeholders to understand enterprise data requirements Provide technical assurance across major data initiatives Guide architecture decisions for platforms including Dynamics 365, ArcGIS and Power BI Mentor internal teams and champion best practice across the organisation About you You'll bring proven experience leading enterprise data architecture within large, complex environments and be comfortable engaging senior stakeholders while providing technical leadership. You'll ideally have experience with: Microsoft Azure data technologies Enterprise data architecture Data governance frameworks SQL and ETL solutions Power BI Enterprise data modelling Architecture documentation and standards Stakeholder engagement at executive level Experience with Dynamics 365, ArcGIS, TOGAF or Queensland Government ICT frameworks will be highly regarded.
