About the Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment & Industrial Relations lawyer to join a leading Australian organisation in a high-impact role with a strong focus on payroll compliance, industrial instrument interpretation and legal risk management. Working closely with senior leaders across Legal, HR, Payroll and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements and workplace legislation while supporting complex payroll compliance initiatives and broader employment law matters. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging issues that have a direct impact on one of Australia's largest operational businesses. About the Role: Reporting to the Head of Employee & Industrial Relations, your responsibilities will include: Providing expert legal advice on payroll compliance, Award interpretation and Enterprise Agreements. Advising on underpayment risk, wage compliance and industrial instrument obligations. Supporting payroll compliance reviews and remediation initiatives. Partnering with Payroll, HR and operational leaders to identify legal risks and implement practical compliance solutions. Advising on complex employment and industrial relations matters, including workplace disputes, investigations and organisational change. Representing the business in employment-related litigation and briefing external counsel where required. Developing and enhancing employment law and payroll compliance frameworks, policies and governance. About the Role: To be successful, you will ideally possess: 5 years' post-admission experience specialising in Employment and Industrial Relations. Strong technical expertise in Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll compliance. Experience advising on wage underpayment matters, payroll compliance reviews and/or remediation projects will be highly regarded. A sound understanding of Fair Work legislation and industrial instruments. The ability to provide commercially pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders.
