About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our growing team in Geelong. You will be responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, day-to-day accounting operations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support management decisions. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries Investigating variances, discrepancies and irregularities in financial data Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Support external audits and year-end reporting Monitor cash flow and financial performance Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and requirements Assist with process improvements and internal control Prepare BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory reporting obligations Maintaining organised financial documentation and record-keeping systems Reviewing and accurately processing supplier invoices Preparing and processing weekly payment runs and ad hoc payments Performing daily bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow Assisting with financial reporting, analysis and ad hoc projects as required Manage, guide, and support overseas personnel across daily operations and team objectives Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline 2 years’ experience in a general accounting role Experience supervising or supporting accounting staff Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and GST requirements Xero experience (highly regarded) Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills CPA or CA qualification (completed or in progress preferred) High attention to detail and strong analytical capability Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
