We're partnering with a leading Australian research and insights organisation seeking a Manager, Data Operations to lead a team delivering data solutions across large-scale social, government and research projects. This is an opportunity to combine people leadership with hands-on technical work in an environment where innovation, quality and methodology matter. The Opportunity Reporting into senior leadership, you'll lead a growing Data Operations team while remaining close to the technical work. You'll oversee project delivery, team capability and the ongoing enhancement of data processing workflows, automation and package development. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Scientists and Data Operations professionals Manage project delivery, resourcing and workload allocation Enhance data processing workflows, automation and package development Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for complex datasets Partner with researchers and project teams to deliver high-quality outputs Maintain strong data governance, quality and integrity standards Support the development of tools and infrastructure that improve efficiency and accuracy About You You'll bring a combination of technical expertise and people leadership, with experience leading teams in complex data environments. You'll likely have: Strong programming experience in R and/or Python Experience developing reusable packages, scripts and automated workflows SQL and database management experience Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple data sources Exposure to APIs, data integration and processing pipelines Previous people management or team leadership experience Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Highly Regarded Experience working with survey or research data Exposure to social research, market research, government research or official statistics environments Experience with Git and modern development practices Knowledge of data governance, privacy and information security requirements Why Apply?
