Join a team at the forefront of applying climate science to real-world decisions across South Australia. As a Senior Climate Data Analyst, you will bridge cutting-edge research with the practical needs across government—delivering insights that shape adaptation, resilience, and long-term sustainability. Working with large and complex climate datasets, including downscaled projections and coastal hazard data, you will transform raw information into robust, decision-ready products. Your work will directly support risk assessments, land-use planning, infrastructure resilience, and policy development—helping safeguard communities and vulnerable coastal systems. Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll partner with state and local government as well as research institutions to co-design innovative analytical approaches that address emerging climate challenges. Your ability to translate complex science into clear, actionable data and advice will empower decision-makers to respond confidently to climate risks. You will also contribute to the development of high-quality knowledge systems, including spatial datasets, metadata frameworks, and analytical tools, ensuring climate information is accessible, trusted, and embedded in organisational practice. This is an opportunity to push the boundaries of climate data analytics while delivering tangible impact—supporting smarter decisions, stronger infrastructure, and more resilient communities in a changing climate. The Department for Environment and Water is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
